National Tree Day

- Details: National Tree Day is Australia's biggest community tree-planting event. Since Tree Day started in 1996 more than 2 million volunteers have planted over 13 million native trees and shrubs!
Ride to Work Day

- Details: National Ride to Work Day is behaviour change program that encourages workers to feel good and have fun by commuting to work by bike and experiencing the health, financial and environmental benefits of riding.
National Recycling Week

- Details: In November 1996, Planet Ark founded National Recycling Week as a community education and media campaign. The aim was to bring a national focus to recycling and the broader themes of minimizing waste and managing material resources.
Make Something Day

- Details: MSD encourages folks to avoid shopping on the Friday after Thanksgiving and instead, stay home, put a log on the fire and try making something for someone.
Buy Nothing Day

- Details: Buy Nothing Day is a protest organised by Adbusters to encourage people to stop consuming for one day. By consuming less, we reduce the strain on the earth's vital resources (while stickin' it to the MAN!)
Beach Clean-Ups

Clean-Up Australia Day

- Details: Every year, from Perth to Penrith, hundreds of thousands of Australians get stuck in and clean up their local environment by collecting and removing rubbish on Clean Up Australia Day. Getinvolved!
Earth Hour

- Details: Created to take a stand against one of the greatest threats our planet has ever faced, Earth Hour uses the simple action of turning off the lights for one hour to deliver a powerful message about the need for action on global warming.
